Hunger affects the ability of students to learn. Food insecurity is a serious concern in communities throughout America. The Hatherleigh Foundation in cooperation with South Kortright Central School (SKCS) is undertaking to provide support for food insecure students and families. This support is provided in the form of food supplies given to students at the end of the school week to help them sustain themselves and their family over the weekend. Called a “backpack program”, this initiative provides needed additional nutrition and sustenance for the students during the school year.
The Hatherleigh Foundation provides needed media and publicity services to non-profit activities and organizations that align with the core themes and principles of the Foundation. Such services include media outreach, technology, production, and broadcasting.
